ℹHOW DOES YOGA ADDRESS THE 3 PRIME AREAS OF LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE EYFS FRAMEWORK AND THEIR ASSOCIATED ELGs?

Yoga addresses the 3 Prime Areas of Learning and Development of the EYFS Framework and their associated ELGs.

1. Communication & Language

✅Yoga develops a child’s listening and speaking skills and builds confidence in self-expression.

2. Physical Development

✅Yoga is a physical activity that is beneficial for both the body and mind. A child will learn about their body, how it moves and develop their co-ordination, balance, strength, flexibility and control. They will learn the importance of a healthy body and happy mind.

3. Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)

✅Yoga boosts self-confidence, self-awareness and social skills. By practising calming breathing techniques and relaxation a child will learn how to manage feelings and to have calm time. They also learn how to respect themselves and others around them and manage their feelings and behaviour.

During our 30-minute yoga sessions we also teach phonics, literacy and mathematics as we use stories, books, songs, music, themes and props with the children.
Through yoga we provide fun and creative ways to engage children.

By incorporating yoga this is an effective way to spend Early Years funding streams, for example, Early Years Pupil Premium Funding to support your 3 and 4 year old pupils.

Yoga is an effective early intervention tool to support the physical health and mental health of all children.

Please contact us if you would like to incorporate yoga into your Pre School or Reception Setting 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️

Happy New Year 🙏 Our 1st day back in work today and our 1st Pre School class of 2020 at Statham Little Foxes, Lymm.

As it's the start of the new year we talked to the children about how many people set a new year resolution which is like a dream or hope, something they would like to achieve. We then explained to them that everything they need to make them happy is within themselves. They are enough and they have enough ❤

And our story to support this was called 'Incredible You'

We practised our warm up and Sun Salutations then put our hands on our hearts. We took 3 long deep inhales and exhales feeling our hearts beating and said the words "I am enough" ❤

We then moved onto our story and practised lots of yoga poses throughout the book. Repeating at the end of the story "I am incredible"

We ended the session with our calm time under our blankets with yoga teddies 🐻

Such a lovely, positive session to kick off the new year with the children. Also and important message 👍 self love ❤

Mental health is as important as physical health. Yoga is a wellbeing initiative for all Schools.

Please contact us directly if you would like to incorporate yoga at your Pre School setting.

We offer a FREE 30 minute taster to all new Pre School Customers.

Namaste 🙏
