Yoga is a mind and body medicine that improves both physical and mental health. Sharing our skills with children is so satisfying and we love the positive feedback we receive from Parents, Children and Schools.

We would really appreciate the opportunity of sharing our work with more children and Facebook is perfect for raising awareness of these benefits.

Please can we ask our wonderful followers a huge favour? It'll take you no time at all.
Head over to our FB page. If you scroll across the options at the top of our page you'll see 'Community' - if you click on that it will give you an option to invite all of your friends to 'Like' the page.

As a small business we really appreciate the support but also, we would hope that Yoga will make a difference to even more lives as a result. So, please invite all your friends to like us ❤

We love teaching yoga at Early Years settings.

Here is how yoga addresses the Early Years Framework.

Please contact us to incorporate yoga into your setting.

Namaste 🙏

ℹHOW DOES YOGA ADDRESS THE 3 PRIME AREAS OF LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE EYFS FRAMEWORK AND THEIR ASSOCIATED ELGs?

Yoga addresses the 3 Prime Areas of Learning and Development of the EYFS Framework and their associated ELGs.

1. Communication & Language

✅Yoga develops a child’s listening and speaking skills and builds confidence in self-expression.

2. Physical Development

✅Yoga is a physical activity that is beneficial for both the body and mind. A child will learn about their body, how it moves and develop their co-ordination, balance, strength, flexibility and control. They will learn the importance of a healthy body and happy mind.

3. Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)

✅Yoga boosts self-confidence, self-awareness and social skills. By practising calming breathing techniques and relaxation a child will learn how to manage feelings and to have calm time. They also learn how to respect themselves and others around them and manage their feelings and behaviour.

During our 30-minute yoga sessions we also teach phonics, literacy and mathematics as we use stories, books, songs, music, themes and props with the children.
Through yoga we provide fun and creative ways to engage children.

By incorporating yoga this is an effective way to spend Early Years funding streams, for example, Early Years Pupil Premium Funding to support your 3 and 4 year old pupils.

Yoga is an effective early intervention tool to support the physical health and mental health of all children.

Please contact us if you would like to incorporate yoga into your Pre School or Reception Setting 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️

Is the wellbeing of your students and staff at the heart of your School?

Please contact us if you would like to incorporate yoga into the curriculum in the new Academic Year 🙏

ℹHOW DOES YOGA ADDRESS THE NEW OFSTED FRAMEWORK 2019 FOR SCHOOLS?

The framework is split into 4 key judgements: -
The quality of education
Behaviour and attitudes
Personal Development
Leadership and Management

✴‘Behaviour and Attitudes’ is now a separate judgement area: -

✅Yoga promotes a positive mindset and happy mind. It teaches children and young people how to respect themselves and others and how to be kind to themselves and others. Children learn how to regulate their emotions, feelings and behaviour and how to bring peace and calm to the mind by practising yoga techniques.

In Yoga we have an eight-fold path to right living that is called The Eight Limbs of Yoga. The eight limbs act as a guide to live a life of integrity, self-discipline, respect for nature and the spiritual aspects of life.

One of The Eight Limbs of Yoga is Yama which promotes five universal, ethical and moral standards to live life by 1. Non-violence, 2. truthfulness, 3. non-stealing, 4. continence and 5. non-covetousness.

✴‘Personal Development’ is now a separate judgement area: -

✅Schools are crucial in preparing pupils for their adult lives. Yoga teaches children vital life skill tools to support them into their adult lives to prevent later break downs in mental health.

✴ developing responsible, respectful and active citizens who are able to play their part and become actively involved in public life as adults

✅Yoga connects the body and mind and leads a person to find their own personal happiness. If a child grows up to become a happy and well-rounded individual this will help them to deal with any challenges that they may face along their path of life. Yoga teaches children vital life skill tools ensuring they are ready and will thrive in the outside world.

✴promoting equality of opportunity so that all pupils can thrive together, understanding that difference is a positive, not a negative, and that individual characteristics make people unique

✅In yoga we are all unique, we are all different and that is okay. We are enough. Yoga is non-competitive.

✴promoting an inclusive environment that meets the needs of all pupils, irrespective of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation

✅Yoga is an inclusive discipline. Yoga is for everyone.

✴developing pupils’ character, which we define as a set of positive personal traits, dispositions and virtues that informs their motivation and guides their conduct so that they reflect wisely, learn eagerly, behave with integrity and cooperate consistently well with others. This gives pupils the qualities they need to flourish in our society

✅We teach this through The Eight Limbs of Yoga. Yoga teaches children vital life skill tools ensuring they are ready and will thrive in the outside world.

✴developing pupils’ confidence, resilience and knowledge so that they can keep themselves mentally healthy

✅Yoga increases confidence and resilience in children and young people and is scientifically proven to improve both physical and mental health. The NHS now prescribe yoga to patients suffering with anxiety and depression. We believe Schools are the perfect environments to help our future generations. Yoga is an effective early intervention tool to support the mental health of all children.

✴developing pupils’ understanding of how to keep physically healthy, eat healthily and maintain an active lifestyle, including giving ample opportunities for pupils to be active during the school day and through extra-curricular activities

✅Yoga is a physical activity that improves strength, co-ordination, balance, flexibility, focus and concentration skills. We have a rising problem in the UK with inactivity in children which can lead to obesity and other health problems. Yoga addresses this area by increasing activity. Yoga promotes a healthy body and mind.

The beauty of yoga is that it can be incorporated anywhere into the School curriculum, for example, as a PE lesson, PSHE lesson, lunch time club, after school club, Wellbeing day, Sports Day, SATS course and Special Days in the School calendar.

To meet the requirements of the new Ofsted Framework our recommendation would be to incorporate yoga into your School as a Wellbeing Day once every half term for the whole School.

‘Health Education’ is now being taught in Schools teaching children about good physical health and mental health and we believe yoga addresses these areas and much more.

Yoga for every School. Good physical and mental health should be at the heart of ensuring young people are ready for the adult world.

Please contact us if you would like to make a booking for your School setting.

Namaste 🙏
