A 'healthy eating' yoga theme today at Stockton Heath Primary School Parents Stockton Heath Primary School for our KS2 after school club.

We practised yoga poses that ease and aid our digestive system. We then played a healthy eating game whereby the children worked in teams putting different food and drinks into the healthy or unhealthy box. We looked at the sugar content in sweets and biscuits and discussed how much sugar they should have each day. The children enjoyed eating some healthy fruits 🍌🍎πŸ₯πŸ’πŸ‡πŸ

Through yoga the children learn how to have a healthy body and mind. Supporting both their physical and mental health.

Yoga for every School. The more we teach yoga the more passionate we feel about yoga being part of the National Curriculum. Kids love it ! ❀

A fabulous day today teaching yoga to a new Customer Friends of Westbrook Old Hall Primary School Westbrook Old Hall Primary School as part of their YST National School Sport Week. #NSSW

The 5 ways to wellbeing theme was 'Learning' and it was wonderful to teach around 115 Year 2 and Year 3 children new life skill tools.

We practised breath control, yoga poses to our yoga beach trip story and a calming meditation about the sunshine.

We love the instant positive feedback from the children when they sit up from their relaxation. "I feel like I was under the ocean" "I feel like I was in a candy shop" "I feel on top of the world" "I feel happy"

Yoga connects the mind and body and has so many amazing health benefits. Supporting positive mental health and wellbeing.

Yoga addresses key areas and judgement areas of the new Ofsted Framework.

We celebrated International Yoga Day at St Peter's Catholic Primary in Woolston by taking a yoga trip around the World 🌍

The KS2 students practised lots of yoga poses and we tested our Geography knowledge as we visited South Africa, Australia, India, Paris and Italy to name a few.

We imagined we were holding the World in our hands during our breath work and shared our gratitude with eachother by passing around our gratitude ball.

It's such a lovely part of the class hearing what things the children are grateful for in their lives.

Yoga means 'Union' the connection of the mind, body and spirit. Peace and harmony in the World.
