The Old Vicarage Day Nursery

We were so happy to be back to start a new term of yoga with the Pre School children at The Old Vicarage Day Nursery

We sang our Alphabet song, we practiced our lion breath 🦁 and learnt the letters A - H doing yoga poses for fun. The children listen to the yoga magical singing bowl and sat still on their mats. They enjoyed calm time at the end with yoga teddies under blankets.

Yoga addresses key areas of the EYFS Framework and their associated ELGs.

Contact us if you would like to implement yoga at your school setting as an early intervention and prevention initiative.

Namaste 🙏

Universoul Awakening

What a gorgeous video...demonstrating that little ones can learn to meditate and be still.

This is something we practice in all of our yoga classes with children.

If children learn to control their thought waves and release any negativity this will lead to positive health and wellbeing.

✴Day 6 - Alphabet Yoga✴

⭐Letter Nn for Nest or Bow Pose

✅Benefits: The Bow Pose improves blood circulation, flexibility to the back, strengthens the back muscles, ankles, thighs, chests and abdominals. It improves posture and releases back pain. It is an all-around great total body opening back bend.

⭐Letter Oo for Owl 🦉 or Hero Pose

✅Benefits: This pose reduces tightness in the legs and strengthens the arches of the feet. It creates a deep flexion of the knee joints and increases blood circulation through the legs. It is a seated pose considered good for meditation and pranayama. Improves posture.

⭐Letter Pp for Peacock 🦚 or Seated Wide Legged Pose

✅Benefits: This pose stretches the inner legs as well as the groin and hamstrings. By adding the arms this also stretches the spine, shoulders and arms. All these areas are strengthened too.

⭐Letter Qq for Queen 👸 or Mountain Pose

✅Benefits: This pose is a great starting position or resting, calming pose. It is a standing pose that improves posture, balance and calm focus. A fabulous grounding pose used to root yourself.

We hope you enjoyed our demonstration from Grace aged 4 years old.

We love to hear your comments ❤

What To Do If Your Child Is Anxious About Going Back To School

With the number of children suffering with their mental health and budget cuts, this list of children on waiting lists for help is increasing.

Trying some relaxation techniques can be a source of ease, is free, and can't do any harm.

Thanks Young Minds for this advice, and if Yoga isn't in your child's school yet please promote us and the work we do in Schools across Warrington.

We are a LiveWire Business Partner.

Namaste 🙏
