We're proud to be supporting Place2Be #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek (3-9 February). Join us and help to shine a light on the importance of children and young people's #Mentalhealth

We had a fabulous extra curricular yoga club at Stockton Heath Primary School today.

Our theme "Finding our brave"

We utilised Place2Be's resource for Primary Schools and adapted it to our yoga.

We started our class with a positive affirmation "I am brave 🙏"

We then moved onto our 'Finding our brave' activity. The children we all given a piece of paper and asked a set of questions. 'What does bravery mean to you?' 'Write examples of being brave' 'What could you do in school that is brave?' We shared and discussed our answers as a group. We reminded the children that we all have to be brave, even adults. Bravery can come in all shapes and sizes. It can be trying something new, stepping out of your comfort zone, asking for help or talking to somebody about a worry. By finding our brave it can build confidence, self esteem and make you feel happy 😀

The children then created their own BRAVE cartoon characters, gave them a name and what their brave super power or skills would be. Some fabulous drawings were done and the children loved being creative 🥰

After sharing our pictures we practiced lots of yoga postures to boost our confidence repeating the words "I am brave" whilst in each pose.

We ended our class with a guided meditation under blankets from Relax Kids.

We are excited for the week ahead supporting children's mental health teaching our yoga. We love teaching these topics as they are matters close to our heart ❤

Namaste 🙏
