EYFS yoga teaching over 80 little yogis this week at Little Learners Lynton Private Day Nursery The Old Vicarage Day Nursery Statham Little Foxes, Lymm. Yoga supports the children's overall wellbeing ๐Ÿฅฐ

Our theme was โ›ฉ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณChinese New Year๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ โ›ฉ

We started our practice with our warm up and Dance to the Sun, Sun Salutation routine.

We moved onto the main theme of our class Chinese New Year and explained that it's celebrated on 25th January and this year is the year of the rat ๐Ÿ€ We read the group the ancient story of Emperor Jade and the 12 animals crossing the river. The animal who won the race had the year named after them. We practiced a yoga pose for each of the 12 animals and moved around our mats. Even creating a human dragon ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿ‰ and practicing our lion breath for our Tiger ๐Ÿ… Our last pose was the boat pose on the river ๐Ÿ›ฅ๐ŸŒŠ all the animals got into the boat and the boat sunk down into the bottom of the river lying children on their mats preparing them for relaxation.

We ended our practice with our 'Calm Time' under blankets with our yoga teddies ๐Ÿป to bring peace and calm to the body and mind.

A fun yoga class teaching the children about other traditions from around the world.

We were delighted to be back at St Peter's Catholic Primary for their extra curricular yoga club today. We have a full club with 15 children taking part for the next 8 weeks which is really positive. Supporting their wellbeing ๐Ÿฅฐ

Our theme was โ›ฉ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณChinese New Year๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ โ›ฉ

We started our practice with our gratitude ball and each child either said theirs outloud or in their minds passing the ball to the next person. It's heart warming to hear the children saying their family and friends โค

Teenage yoga is an excellent way to help teens to deal with the overwhelming emotions and physical changes that they go through during adolescence. It is well documented about the health and wellbeing benefits for teens practicing yoga.
