Enrichment Yoga today at Beamont Collegiate Academy teaching 2 classes of both boys and girls. The Academy are part of the TCAT Trust.

Our remit from the Academy was to deliver yoga sessions to improve strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination through poses Asana.

We designed a yoga sequence that worked every muscle group for the Students which included back bands, inversions, twists, lateral bends, forward folds, standing poses, balances. Standing and on the mat. All the poses stretched and strengthened the muscles and joints and we held the poses for several deep and long breaths.

Ending the session with a lovely stretch through the whole body.

We are looking forward to working with the Academy for the next half term.

It is well documented about the health and wellbeing benefits of yoga in the Teens. Teenage yoga is an excellent way to help Teens deal with overwhelming emotions and physical changes that they go through during adolescence.

Yoga will help Teens to develop a healthy body and mind. Overall wellbeing 💯

If you would like to incorporate wellbeing yoga into your Secondary or College setting please contact us directly.

An amazing day of wellbeing yoga for Warrington Primary Schools 🥰

Working in partnership with YourLiveWire we delivered yoga to over 120 children as part of their 'Health and Wellbeing Experience Day'. This was our first one for 2020 and we absolutely loved it ❤

Our theme today was "Self esteem" and we thoroughly enjoyed teaching this topic.

Our session started with setting a positive intention "I Am Enough" teaching the children the importance of saying positive things and being positive about themselves.

We then went into our activity discussing self esteem and what this means.

What we think about ourselves and our abilities. What does good self esteem look like? What does poor self esteem look like?

We all agreed that we need good self esteem and the first steps to this are to love ourselves first, to be kind to ourselves, to believe in ourselves, be grateful for the small things all around us and when we do these things we can share that loving kindness with everyone ❤🌈

We warmed our bodies up with a few rounds of sun salutations and wood choppers preparing us for our yoga.

Our yoga consisted of several poses and with each pose we said out loud "I am strong" "I am brave" "I am kind" "I am happy" "I am grateful" "I am confident" "I am proud" I am friendly" "I am positive "I am enough"

We practiced a breathing technique called finger breath to teach the children how to self regulate when feeling a negative emotion.

For our meditation we practiced a positive mantra using our fingers for the touch connection to the self. Repeating I am confident, I am kind, I am grateful, I am enough, many times.

Ending the session listening to the Kindess Mantra by Kira Willey to relax the body and mind.

There are always a few children that stand out and touch our heart on these days. At the end of the session they tell us how much they had loved yoga and that they were going to carry on doing it to help them....that is the biggest reward of the day. The boys always surprise us ❤🙏

Yoga is a way of life, it's not just about the poses, the more you practice yoga it changes your outlook on life and changes your life for the better. You live life with more gratitude and kindness. Which in turn helps you to find your own personal happiness.

We are all different and that is okay, we are all humans with a heart, all on this one planet together and we are all unique. So, always believe in yourself as you can achieve anything 🌟💖

Namaste 🙏

It was fabulous to be back at Stockton Heath Primary School for our first extra curriculum yoga class for 2020 for another full term 👍

Lots of new children in the class too which was positive.

As it is the new year our theme was 🌈Hopes and Dreams🌈 and we talked about how many people set a new years resolution that a lot of the time are broken. They can focus on negative things about ourselves and that wasn't good. We wanted the children to focus on their strengths, what makes them happy and to be positive about themselves.

We started our class with a positive affirmation with hands to our heart space saying "I am enough" ❤

We then moved onto an activity where the children spent time to write down their hopes and dreams. Some children chose to share them with the group.

You will see from the photos attached some very wise words were written by the children 🥰

Their pieces of paper then went at the top of their mats where they could see them.

We practiced many standing and sitting heart opening poses and with each pose we asked the children to look at their pieces of paper and to believe that they could make anything happen. To open their hearts and to send their love out and to receive love ❤

We ended our class by taking some deep and long breaths and then lying down for relaxation under blankets listening to calming music.

We loved this session and listening to all the children's hopes and dreams as they are the next generation who can change our world to be a better place 🌏❤🌈

Yoga addresses key areas of the Ofsted framework and is proven to improve both physical and mental health.

Kids need yoga in their lives more than ever before.

Is wellbeing at the heart of your School?
