We ended our week at St Bridget's Catholic Primary School, Warrington and St Peter's Catholic Primary delivering extra curricular yoga clubs.

The children really enjoyed our Anti Bullying and Kindness theme. We had a lesson plan to practice yoga but sometimes this doesn't happen and we go with the energy of the children. So, this week the children just enjoyed sitting in a circle and having an open discussion about both topics.

We started the class with an activity
asking the children questions about bullying and kindness and asked them to write down their answers. We then shared our answers in a safe environment with each other. It was so rewarding to hear the children talking so confidently about bullying and what they would do if it happened to them or somebody they knew. The older children educated the younger children who didn't understand.

We talked about kindness and how we should always practice this in our lives. Firstly by being kind to ourselves, loving ourselves and believing in ourselves. That we are all different and we are all unique. Then once we love ourselves we can share that love and kindness with others. We discussed how kindness can be big or small. The children gave examples saying hugs, playing with friends, making a friend feel happy when they were sad and one child collected litter in her area with her Nanna. As it was Children In Need we shared this as an example of kindness across the UK.

It's so important to teach children to practice kindness and gratitude. And Adults too!! It changes your life for the better โค๐ŸŒˆ

We ended our session with a relaxing meditation about kindness under blankets having time to pause and bring peace and calm to the body and mind.

What a wonderful week of Pre School yoga at Little Learners Callands and Westbrook sites, Lynton Private Day Nursery The Old Vicarage Day Nursery Statham Little Foxes, Lymm and St Philip's Pre School, Westbrook. Teaching over 100 children yoga to support their wellbeing.

Our theme this week was taken from World Kindness Day on 13th November ๐Ÿฅฐ

We started our class with our warm up "heads shoulders knees and toes" and our Sun Dance.

We practiced breath control work by blowing a kiss to somebody or something we loved 3 times ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

We then passed around a cuddly toy rabbit ๐Ÿฐfor the children to hug and say "I am kind" then passing it onto the next child โค sharing our kindness.

Our yoga story to fit our loving kindness theme was 'Guess How Much I Love You' ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ‡ and the children enjoyed practicing yoga poses to the story.

At the end of our story Little Nut Brown Hare settles down into the leaves to rest with a kiss from Big Nut Brown Hare. The children lay on their mats which took us into the relaxation part of our class. We had calm time, time to pause under blankets cuddling our yoga teddies ๐Ÿป

Yoga addresses the 3 Prime Areas of Learning and Development and its associated ELGs.

More extra curricular Yoga this week at Stockton Heath Primary School with our Anti Bullying and Kindness theme.

We started our class with our sun salutations to warm up and get our blood flowing around our bodies.

We then practiced our positive mantra "Kindness begins within me" and we worked with yoga mudra, our 4 fingers touching our thumb with every word said. The connection brings positive effects on the body and mind.

We had a discussion and activity around kindness and bullying where the children wrote down answers to questions that we all shared with the group.

For the main part of our yoga we practiced heart opening yoga poses which included a Warrior sequence and flow, goddess pose, camel pose, sphinx pose, locust pose, bow pose ending in child pose preparing us for relaxation.

We ended our class under blankets during relaxation listening to a Loving Kindness Meditation โค

A lovely class teaching the children the importance of kindness through yoga. With love and kindness comes self-compassion, self-esteem, and a deep sense of emotional strength that balances our thoughts and actions.
