It was our final Yoga After School Club yesterday at Penketh Community Primary School Friends Of Penketh Primary before the Half Term.

We always like to do a mindfulness focused session on our last one before the end of Term and have 'Yoga choosing stations' around the room. The stations include, colouring, drawing, Play-Doh, therapy putty, yoga dice, reading books, breathing, relaxation and a craft activity. All mindful activities for the children to bring their focus and attention into the present moment. Away from all distractions.

The winner this time was our new lavendar scented therapy putty πŸ‘ the children loved it and wouldn't put it down πŸ₯°

It's so rewarding to see the children sitting and playing and drawing etc. Away from screens and distractions.

We had a lovely surprise at the end receiving a gorgeous handmade card signed by all the class. Thank you all, it was very thoughtful and kind πŸ’–

Our new Yoga After School Club commences at the School on Wednesday 6th Novemeber for 5 weeks. Please sign up early to secure your child's place.

It was week 4 of our 'Be Calm Club' pilot at St Monica's Catholic Primary School, Warrington.

The lunchtime club has been such a success that they now have to draw names out of a hat due to the limited places available.

We practiced a new breathing technique using our fingers as a focus point to slow our breath down, standing yoga poses to bring calm to the nervous system ending with Turtle and Child poses to aid relaxation.

The children loved our mindful activity this week eating chocolate 🍫 each child was given a piece of chocolate and we ate it mindfully, in the present moment with no rush. We looked at the chocolate before we put it in our mouths, looked at its shape, size, colour, weight, smell, was it melting in our hands?? Then we placed the chocolate in our mouths and let it melt until it had disappeared. No biting or chewing. Noticing the feelings and sensations of the chocolate. How did it make them feel? The children enjoyed it so much they did it twice!! 🍫🍫

A lovely way to end our practice, fully aware and in the moment.

If you would like to incorporate a 'Be Calm Club' at your school setting over the lunchtime period please contact us. We have availability on a Monday and Friday currently.
